Water’s Edge Restaurant started in 2003, as a small sophisticated eatery in Michigan City called Café Elite and Catering. This one of a kind restaurant was located on the comer of 7th and Wabash Street across from the Lighthouse Place Outlet Mall. Ten years later, with the decision to expand their business, the new restaurant was opened, and the name was changed to fit the new location and atmosphere. Still locally owned and operated by Mark and Amanda Kolasa, Water’s Edge Restaurant is located in Washington Park, on the shores of Lake Michigan in the historic former Yacht Club building. With spectacular views of the lake, harbor and marina, Water’s Edge offers full service dining, full service indoor and outdoor bars, expansive outdoor dining for up to 100 guests, banquet and meeting services, and an outdoor pavilion. Chef Mark has worked in the restaurant industry his entire career. Graduating from the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago and the experiences with his craft, Mark offers a creative edge to his variety of scratch-made menu options. Water’s Edge customers also know and appreciate Amanda, who heads out the front of the house, and ensures that every diner’s experience is a delight. She and Mark share the same commitment to quality, from the food, to the atmosphere, to the impeccable service each and every guest experiences. So if you come here by boat, or by car, Chef Mark, Amanda and the entire staff at Water’s Edge extend a warm welcome and look forward to serving you soon! In The Press
